I often wear a hat when playing and notably on Sunday when I found my fedora. The result? An unbeaten session.
Coincidence?
I will say though that not all hats work. I had a ten gallon hat once, but had to throw it away due to not being able to see my monitor.

I wear a really old battered boonie-hat-type-thing when it's sunny, saves the old pate from melanoma

I never wear a hat when playing CM, but I, like Ian, have to wear a hat in the sun, due to a thinning of the hair caused by the stress of seeing some of the thread in here.
I wear a proper Panama hat from Ecuador.

Andy, you'll notice that none of the three bear any resemblance to the original points. Hats from refusing contracts?
You've gotta love the LLM Forum for offtopicedness |

So my problem are constant tries to say something based on discussion topic? I'll try another way then. Say... say... o! say, how do you do - choose a hat that suits your clothes, or choose your clothes based on your hat?

With Ian it obviously cannot be either of them because a boonie hat with basque, suspenders and stockings just does not go.
With me, the hat has to fit the clothes. Nice white shirt, Navy blazer and Panama hat. Scruffy jacket scruffy trousers and flat cap.

A quick correction to Ian's preferred mode of attire.
