ahhhh where to start?
Kfoolmoon - the chairman ploughs loads of money into the club

That and we pray for good cup runs and some sponsorship deals. My club isn't full-time unlike teams such as Hornchurch or Canvey Island and we have a £3000 a week wage bill. Doesn't sound that much but when you total it up over what, 40 weeks, it suddenly bceomes a thorn in the side. You then have to take into account things like ground maintenance during the summer, away travel and considering we were charging only £7 for adults £3.50 for kids and had a gate average of 150. You lose quite a bit of cash.

Craig0 - It depends on how strong the board are compared to the manager. If you have a weak board then the manager will basically do what he wants and the Chairman will go along with it if. Its all quite political. However most manager's are realistic and know that money doesn't grow on trees.
In my club's case the committee decide what needs to be done over the course of the season. At the end of the season we whittle that list down to what is urgent and what can be afforded.
------------------------------------------------
Taipan - I believe we train once or twice a week. It depends if we have a game or not. If a game is called off due to a waterlogged pitch then that turns into a training session. We generally play twice a week but fixture pile-up can add to that.
One of our coaches is also our chief scout. Sometimes he doesn't come to games because he is checking out a player at another game. At this level most people know each other on a personal level so we might get a tip off about a player from someone in the know. Saying that, we have had agents contacting us about players. We have a cameroonian under 19 international playing for us, we have Bradley Allen playing for us (apparently our manager knows the Allen family), and we've had junior harvey from so solid crew play for us. One team (can't remember who they are) have/had the Mali international goalkeeper playing for them.
That's why you tend to find ex big name pros struggling to manage at this level because you've really got to know people and know what's going on.

LFCfan - wish i could tell you. i'm not management

------------------------------------------------
MFCMark - if only you knew how many emails a day i get asking that question

------------------------------------------------
Craig0 - you don't really get a person in that position at this level. My personal feeling is that is more of an honourary title when you don't want someone to be manager or on the board but you want to show some sort of recognition for the service they have given. You then make up the duties in that role. My opinion of course!

Nobby_McDonald - you're probably right but at this level the only lunches we get are after the game and they tend to be sandwiches and finger foods
