I envisage this as being a one-season rescue mission. I may drop down a Division, no promotion is hellish (Cups suck ass, btw)

Success, I suppose, is relative to what the expectations and position are at the point where the benchmark is created, so to speak.

Given the expectations - achieve a safe mid-table position - and the position - 13th in the Division, 2 points above relegation, 17 points behind the Leaders - then a finishing position of 5th - 33 points above relegation and 23 points behind the Leaders - is pretty successful, so why am I slightly disappointed?

Last game of the season saw us one point ahead of Newcastle in 4th place - CL spot - with lowly Man City to play at the City of Manchester Stadium while Newcastle had relegated Birmingham to play at St James' Park.

We went 2 down before we had a chance to draw breath, despite being on top with possession and shots. A bit of a huff and puff performance saw us drag it back to 2-2, but by that time Newcastle had cantered to a 5-0 victory and 4th place.

(Man City's goalie got MoM and they were nearly bottom, Devon )

So now I'm weighing my options. I said I thought this was a one season deal, but the closeness of CL football has got me interested, and now Arsenal have offered me the job.

I reckon another season at Ewood Park and see what happens.

Nice batch of U-19's just been promoted...

Oh, and we were beaten 1-0 by Chelski over two legs in the League Cup semi-final and dumped out 3-0 by Tottenham in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

It is amusing how you can surpass your dreams for a season and still feel cheated at the end.

Listen...

Slap...slap...

That was the sound of my tÂ*its being bored off

With the minimum of effort we managed to win the Premiership and the Uefa Cup, though we were ingloriously dumped out of the FA and League Cups early on.

I'll continue 'til we're dumped out the Champions' Cup and then seek pastures new.

(Now...where's my tÂ*its?)
