As mentioned in another thread, we were dumped out of the Cups in a three week aquaplaning period...big deal.

We held on to top spot in the League, though, and managed to clinch it with a 2-0 win over my last charges, Charlton.

The double was secured with a 2-1 extra time win over Deportivo La Coruna after we each had a player sent off.#

Very lucrative. The final alone netted us £4.5m, the gate money topped £1.5m and the TV Money was £13.5m. Add to this the £12m EPL TV Money and the £10m for winning the League and we were a reasonably well-off Club

Good time, therefore, to close the gates on this save for a while and have a go at the Welsh League/European "challenge" from the other place.
