What's the consensus regarding playing LLM on CM03/04? I've only immersed myself with it for a few weeks and it's completely re-energised the game for me. However, even with a speedy computer it's painfully slow running just the British leagues and large database. Don't get me wrong, I love CM, but I don't want to induce unnecessary tissue necrosis waiting for matches to be processed. After reading a few topics on here I get the impression that because of the speed issue 03/04 isn't ideally suited to LLM.
I was thinking of running with a smaller database but wouldn't this make an LLM game nigh on impossible, and/or unrealistic?
Not impractical as such, but...
Before I got my new computer, I had to endure long processing times. Solutions such as 'reading a book', 'solving world hunger' and 'practising Minesweeper' all seemed to work reasonably well.
Now I have a new computer, my Minesweeper has gone down the drain, there's a famine every week in Africa and I've got a stack of unread books.
But I'm sure the problem lies more with the game itself rather than LLM.
My latest LLM game has been using 16 leagues in 11 countries on a medium data base. Other than the usual crawl through transfer periods it rruns just fine and I have not noticed a problem in locating a decent spread of young players (able or otherwise) in my scouting efforts.
Maybe I'm just chronically impatient, but my PC - XP2500+@2.36GHz, 1GB RAM, Raptor RAID array etc - still allows my wife time to harass me about DIY etc during the times that I'm staring blankly at the screen waiting for some obscure Welsh club to pinpoint its seasonal transfer targets.
My computer runs England league only on large DB fine. Small or medium is laughable. I couldn't believe what I discovered when I completed the first season. Talk about newly promoted conference teams short of players, they were short of everything!
