I would have thought Papa Smurf's heading ability would be quite poor as he does not look too tall or athletiec. Just my opinion anyway.

I would not think being a Leigh RMI fan would be needed to determine this.

It seems as if you Llamas have taken the wrong end of the stick.

I named players only to describe the job that a Leigh RMI researcher would be asked to do.

A Man Utd researcher would have to detail what stats to give Roy Keane, and a Leigh RMI researcher would have to do the same for their players. Hence listing a couple of names of the players. I hardly told you whether those players were good or not.

Gripper, it appears that you are the one with the wrong end of the stick. We appreciate your question, but there is actually no need for you to name specific players to ask it. Our forum header explicitly states that player naming will not be tolerated. Some members of the forum therefore questioned why you were not using the same rules that everyone else are bound by.

The reasons for this rule, I quote from the "Explanation of forum rules" thread

"Player naming - NO Exceptions

The reason behind this rule is locally known as The Floodgate Scenario. Lower League Managers rely almost exclusively on their Scouts to find players to grace their squad, they don't want to see names of players found by other Managers in posts on LLM.
New arrivals to LLM have in the past seen the names of regens or famous current players in posts and have decided that it's okay to post "Buy Player X, he's a great goalie" or "Player Z will net 140 goals a season" and be routinely flamed by regulars.
Name one player and it opens the floodgates for dozens of others.
For this reason there is no player naming in LLM - NO Exceptions."

So you see, we know that you did not intend to tell us things we don't want to hear about said players, but we have a simple policy here that is clearly explained.

We appreciate the good work you're doing, and I for one hope you find a researcher for Leigh RMI.

Obviously any rules that individual fora may have do not apply to people employed by SI.

Also it seems that a total lack of a sense of humour is required by said personnel.

Further a read of the thread shows up a few people who may be willing to help SI with research on Leigh RMI. I would suggets that spitting ones dummy out and continuing to ignore the rules of this forum may be counterproductive.

I apologise to all I have offended for the 'naming' of two Leigh RMI players in my bid to describe the expected duties of the person we are desperately looking for to help us with the research for that club.

I have had the 'floodgate' scenario explained to me and now fully understand the mistake that I made.

Hmmm...I'm not sure about this. I guess if you can't find anyone at all to do this then I would be of some help, but I'm not exactly the best person to ask when it comes to Leigh RMI.

I know the area, the ground, most of the players and a couple of youth team players and have seen a few matches. I also know people who work at the ground who could give me a bit of info if I needed it (for example, I could possibly get a full squad list and youth team list).

If you think it's worth it I'll send you an email but I don't want to waste your time...
