Definite hobby

I started cooking as a kid and am now capable of most things. I also worked as a butcher at one stage so I know about meat.

Nasi Goreng is an Indonesian style fried rice dish with plent of meat and prawns. It needs dried shrimp paste as a speciality ingredient though. Not common everywhere. The pork strips are cooked slowly in little fish sauce, water and sugar. the liquid is absorbed by the meat which turns a nice brown colour with a superb flavour.

Ghm. Sounds great.

Have you tried traditional siberian ravioli? According your meat knowledge, you should be able to cook nice ones

I have tried traditional italian ravioli but not pelmeni which is, I think, what you are talking about. I might try this but will cook them in chicken stock rather than water. I do not fancy serving them with vinegar.

Yes, yes. I meant pelmeni, but the dictionary didn't tell me the translation.

There's no need for vinegar, i'm quite sure. They are served with sour cream and boulion. Good tasty boulion is an important thing.

Another great thing-of-a-like is "manty", but i don't know a correct translation for them...

Keep up, Greek one! That pork-story got me well out of my working rhythm

Would that be Manti, the dumplings filled with a mixture of meat and pumpkin, eaten by the Tartars of Central Asia?
