After a couple of season's you'd care to explain the Belgian promotion/relegation system to us.
Good luck. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
2nd div

ROMOTION: The champion gets promoted
the league is divided in three parts of 11(12) games each. The winners of those parts get a playoff position. At the end of the season, the tickets for playoff that are still available are given to the best placed teams without a ticket. The playoffs are a mini-league with 4 teams.
RELEGATION: The two last teams relegate, the 16th team gets into the relegation playoffs together with the promotion candidates from div3. These playoffs are elimination-stage, only the winner gets to start in div2.
3rd division: The champions of the A&B -league get promoted automaticly. They have to play a game to decide who is the div3 champion. These divisions are also divided in parts of 10 games, and the winners get a ticket.
I hope the system is now a bit more understandable for you guys. I hear that in Mexico, it's even worse. I heard it's possible to relegate and compete for the title in the same season...
