As for England, nothing to do with qualifying more/getting further in most tournaments since then? It's more of a media thing as far as I'm concerned anyway. I know we're not as good as the likes of Italy, France or Holland, and I'd hope most reasonably intelligent people realise that as well.

i think its more of a childhood thing because you could never play rugby and football for a club since the games and training classed. If you play more of one then you're bound to favour it more than the other.

When I was younger I was torn between Karate and Footie. I soon realised that the dubious delights of an ill-timed sliding tackle on our local pitch could not compete with the thrill of sticking my foot into somebodies chest and getting praised for knocking them into next week.
