Playing with West Brom,
First Season= Promotion
Second Season= Euro Cup + Winner

But West Brom did not give me a new contract !!
Now Ive lost all the good players I bought...very annoyed

What did I do wrong??

Did you keep tabs on the Board Confidence? if so where there any signs there?

Seems very strange unless you either underacieved on the Board's league expectations ( Cups dont appear to count ) or overspent badly on the wage budget.

i was playing as liverpool. finished 3rd two seasons in a row (first two seasons) didn't win any cups but i presumed they'd offer me a contract anyway becvause i had improved over the two years.
but they didn't.
so i gave mysefl a contract through some save game editor.

i have the latest patch so i think it's rather harsh.
it seems that you MUST achieve what they want and nothing else will be good enough.
they should take into account improvements and the fact we only start with a 2 year contract

I did check the board confidence, the board was happy with everything.

I didnt overspend on the wage budget, although i was reckless in signing and terminating coaches, wonder if that could have any relevance?

Im not familiar with this patch thing, could someone tell me more about it?

Why should they ?
You have a choice at the start of the game....if you can't get Liverpool at least a Cup or top 2 in the first couple of seasons then i'd say you don't deserve a new deal.

One of the most important factors to the board are the finances. if you overspend, you'll most likelly not be offered a new deal.

The contract not getting renewed is a bug in the game when it was released.

SI created a patch, which fixes issues like these.

Please see the stick at the top of this forum on getting it and installing it.
