Is it possible to get a european feeder club when managing at Championship level? would like the chance to send young foreign players on loan for a work permit. The board only seem to find small UK or Irish clubs to become affiliated with, anyway round this??

Yes, it is possible.

I ended up with Winkel Sport in Belguim.

However, I had accepted a feeder deal with Brentford and Cort City before I got offered the Belgian club.

Doesn't appear to be possible. As a Championship side, your parents will be Premier League, however, if you are say some-one like Wolves and get to the Premiership, you will not be able to get a Parent club at all, as the Board will refuse.

I asked in the bugs forum when I was manager of Hamilton and got them to the Scottish Premier Leagu. My Link to Dundee Utd was cancelled and the board were of the opinion that Accies were of too big a stature to be a feeder club. Though six months after I left, they became a feedeer to Chelsea. Go figure.

It's the way the game is set-up apparently, so I think you will be unlikely to be able to obtain Continental parents, perhaps feeders at a later date, but not parent.

Oops, not possible for parent, but certainly possible to obtain a feeder. Misread the original!

As Middlesboro in the championship I got a feeder club in Spain- small club with no REAL players - called something like Ontiyent

That happened a lot in FM07 - SPL teams whose boards claimed they were too important to have a parent club then suddenly linking up with an EPL club. At different times my Morton team have acquired Liverpool and Man City as parent club.

Strangely, at Stockport I won promotion to the Premiership and retained my link with Charlton (also in the EPL) as my parent club...I thought the link would automatically get cancelled when we were in the same division!
