I have saved a skin to programfiles/sportsinteractive/footballmanager2006/data/skins and went on to my preferences and it wasnt there. what am i doing wrong

Have you got skin cache unticked in preferences?

Have you unzipped the skin?
Have you transfered all the folders needed by the skin (read the readme for the skin).
