I have downloaded this update but when I open it on the read me file it says extract to programme files/sports interactive/fm2006/data/db yet the file is a '.exe' so surely I have to just put it onto the previous .exe in which I did and it worked but after about a month through the game it comes up with a serious error and has to close?? It was ok before so I'm presuming it was the update causing this?? Anyone able to help?

Not bad so far, but I've noticed a few things mainly with the Premier league that are not correct as far as I know.

Lorenzo Amoruso and Gresko of Blackburn have both been released I think.

Zack Whitbread of Liverpool now has signed for Milwall. On this update he is just loaned to them.

If you're going to have Djibril Cisse's loan to Marseille on there it should be with an agreed fee of £8m, however I think Cisse's loan has been finalised so whether it should be included I don't know.

Douala hasn't signed for Middlesborough, but he has accroding to this update. Also, Hasselbaink has been released by Boro.

Collins Mbesuma has been released by Portsmouth. I think Jonnie Jackson left Tottenham (not 100% on this one mind).

Elliot Ward left West Ham for Coventry.

These next few are just things I've noticed - not neccessarily things to change, just things I thought I would point out.

For some reason Rooney's been completely changed on there - he's now under-rated. I hate the guy yet I think his stats have been drastically reduced. If you ask me he's much better than 158 current ability which you have it set at, and should surely have his PA above 190 (it's currently at 185).

I don't think Messi's PA should be 198 myself, but people may disagree with me.

Flamini should IMO have around 6-8 for LB as he played for some perioid of time there this season.

Joey O'Brian (Bolton) should have around 10-12 for RB in my opinion as he played around half a season there, doing so well for Bolton.

Gabriel Paletta should have PA -9 (as he did on the January data update (the official SI one). It's currently -8.
Le Tallec shouldn't have -9 potential for me, maybe -8 would be better. He's really nothing special for me.
Luis Garcia should never have 20 for MC - I don't think he's ever played the role. 5 would be about right.

These are just things I've noticed that personally I don't agree with - just thought I'd share my 2 cents.

Douala's transfer to Middlesbrough is definately off, Hasselbaink is definately released too.

I haven't tried it yet but Rooney should be a world class player but with low concentration, tackling and composure. It'll compensate for how rubbish some people think he is, as I think he's rubbish but you can't deny that sometimes he performs miracles.

Messi only deserves 190 PA imho, he's nowhere near 198.

To be honest I think Rooney is about right - perhaps just lower tackling, and really low temperament and sportsmanship (although I think they're pretty low already). I'm guessing the under-rated Rooney's are due to the World Cup fallout or something.

I think in Messi's case, his PA of -10 is probably about right which he has in the original data.
