It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Tactics for Stancu

I bought Stancu a few seasons back, but im having real trouble getting him to score an acceptable amount per season. I playing a 442 at the minute witha target man beside him and was just wondering what the best individual tactics to use with him were?

I am having the same problems with Danny Haynes. He is playing off Steve Howard but not scoring.

I always played Stancu as the targetman?

Just me on that one?

works best for me as a lone striker, couldn't get much luck with 2 up front, no matter who was on his side

I play him up front on his own, with Gamst Pederson and bojinov just behind him for my Blackburn team, and he always scores around 30 goals in a season. I did try him for a few matches as the target man / run onto ball, but that didnt really work - for me at least - but possibly, I was a little too impatient - or shouldnt have him running onto the ball!

I use him as a target man together with a fast striker (Delgado). I also had problems finding the right settings, but for me he now works quite well with settings close to the the preset "target man" settings from the game. In detail:

Mentality: Attacking (17 - not the common TM lower than team average!)
CF: Normal (10)
Passing: Direct (15)
CD: Own Half (12)
Tackling: Normal
FWR: mixed
RwB: rarely
Long shots: mixed
TTB: mixed
Cross: rarely
Cross from: byline
Cross aim: mixed
Marking: zonal.

No hold-up ball, supply to feet at counter attack (for me he is a great counter striker).
Hold-up ball, supply to feet or mixed when attacking.

1st season: apps 11 (13), 15 goals, 5 assists.
2nd season (first half): apps 12 (6), 11 goals, 2 assists.

Hope it works for you.

Interesting. He's currently in my Valencia reserves, just waiting on Zigic to die, so I could play him alongside Fred! Might have to change my thinking reading what you guys have been doing with him!

Should say though he's 6 for 6 in a 4-4-2 in the reserves alongside Aaron!
