Hi, I am playing as Blackpool, in my second season about 10 games from end of season, currently about 16-17th. I was wondering about transfer funds, and whether whatever you have left over at the end of the season is available plus whatever the board gives you for the next season? Because in my first season i was given £240k. In my second season i was given £40k. Ridiculous.
I am keeping wages well in control, £4k per week under my maximum allowed, however my bank balance is constantly going down. Does anyone have any tips on keeping finances in check? Ideally, if anyone has played fm2008 with Blackpool any tips will be greatly appreciated.
The blackpool board are proper stingy, finding it hard to compete with the likes of Leicester who can pay millions for players, i get 250k max per season when i say i expect a top-table finish. I've had to sell a couple of my top players namely Keigan Parker and Wes Hoolahan in order to get a more rounded squad.
Also, the youth players i'm getting through are crap, I have 1 decent 17yr old goalkeeper who I'm told can be a fairly decent championship keeper in the future. All the rest are league 2 status, any tips on getting better youth players into the ranks?
1. No, the transfer money you have left over from a season doesnt get carried over to the next season's tranfer kitty.
2. You can never really know why your bank balance is going down. Maybe you some debt which you are having to repay every month? Have a look in your finances and see what areas are in the red. Will give you a better idea. Also, see what extra bonus clauses your players have asked for. That can sometimes be very high and might be eating into your bank balance.
3. Nothing much you can do about the your youth academy sadly. Its mostly pot luck what players you get into the club. But obviously it also depends on how good your youth setup is. You can ask your board to improve it after a season or two. Whether they do is another question though. It really depends on how much success you're having on the pitch and what your balances are like.
my income is 340k and my expenditure is 640k ! I've tried renewing player contracts by taking off all their bonuses, players on 6.5k were getting additional 1k appearance fee's and god knows what for scoreing. Still isnt gonna make much of a difference. My main expenditure is 80k going on non-football costs - what are these and are there ways of reducing it?
