i need someone to rotate with/play instead of cahill at everton to play as an attack minded central midfielder (not amc) in a 4-1-2-2-1 formation (one dmc, two mcs, amr, aml and fc).
i've got about £9 million to spend on this position (£4 million for a new dmc too, so £13 million in total).
i know the obvious ones are van der vaart and fernandez but are either of them good enough in the deeper mc position? any other players who would do a good job there? need creativity and goals ideally.
any suggestions would be really appreciated. thanks!
I would suggest Banega. You can often get him for between £2-5m (bit of a wide range i know). He's a DMC but in early seasons his defensive stats are rubbish but these get better throughout the seasons. I would also check his preferred moves as he sometimes has 'dives into tackles' which can get him into trouble.
However, he has very high stats for passing, dribbling, creativity, technique, etc and will get you a huge amount of assists. He also becomes a 'wonderkid' in every game.
steven pienarr is good enough he was my best midfielder when i was everton in the demo if not you could alsp try bigili(sp) he's also at boca hes just as good as banega and doesnt get booked as much. altough van der vart will do a great job i think hes way better than cahil ans sidwell.
He might be a little expensive but Arouca is a quality cm, van der vaart doesnt perform to good in the deeper role. julio baptista is normally available cheap as real dont like him, and given a bit of freedom is a good cm
Try Steven Defour, he starts @ Standard in Belgium and is basically a younger version of Cahill. I have him on my Everton game and he's keeping Cahill on the bench.
