I was man city manager for two seasons but they didnt renew my contract (even though I got them into the Euro Cup and won it!!!) so I have managed to get taken on by Portsmouth. I have £33 million transfer budget and looking for a new GK, LB and CB. Due to the ageing nature of these positions I am after decent youthful players, any suggestions?

GK - ochoa, akinfeev if you can still get them cheap. If not, try juan pablo carrizo, he plays for either lazio or river. He's challenging ochoa for his first team place!

LB - FM08 is a bit sparse on good full backs, but try leighton baines or marcelo, although good luck trying to get marcelo to come to pompey

CB - i assume you bought breno at man city so he's out. try christian zapata, naldo, arturo vidal, colochinni. you could even try poaching corluka from your former club

Thanks, these are all excellent suggestions that I will check later but unfortunately there are several that I signed for city who probably wouldnt want to come to portsmouth. I signed Lloris, Baines, Breno and Colochini.

Ochoa is at roma and valued at £13mil, Cahais has just signed for someone and Corluka is in talks with Inter so not going too well so far.

Any other possible suggestions?

GK - Federico Agliardi. Have him at Arsenal and he's first choice for me. Class keeper and wont disappoint. Else, try Diego Cavalieri who's good and VERY consistent. The two of them are not young though. Youngster, try Joao Carlos, Dean Bouzanis, Preston Edwards, Marcelo Grohe. All good keepers.

LB - Mamadou Sakho is a good LB but only if you want a defensive one. Traore is brilliant if you can land him for cheap (doubt it). You could try Omar Esparza, who although not great, can do a job for you. Guilherme, Insua & Taye Taiwo are 3 other possibilities. Others: Demel, Cassani, Manuel Pasqual, Shorey, Pander, Adriano (Sevilla guy).

CB - Sakho can fill this role as well as LB. You should get this kid in any case because he'll help out both positions and it never hurts to have versatile players in your side. When you come up against good wingers (Ronaldo??), play Sakho there, put him on defensive and man-mark the winger. He'll probably save your team at times. Others you can look at are Nordtveit, Jonathan Evans, Jack Hobbs, Steven Taylor, Felipe (Udinese), Boulahrouz (does a good job), Djourou or Samba.

Sorry for double post. Forgot to mention, some of the suggestions are not young as you want but will still do a good job for 2-3 years atleast and will make an immediate impact.
