LLM does not necessarily mean heavy debt. It does generally mean a mere pittance of a budget. So the challenge comes from maximizing the minimal resources at your disposal. From a tranaction standpoint, from a tactical standpoint, etc. Far more satisfying to grow your own success than simply inheriting it. Anyone can win with Arsenal, but can you do it with Canvey Island? That is what gets my juices flowing as a llama.
Are you LLM's really good at the game or do you get depressed losing more times than you win?
Most of us are rubbish, but we get our enjoyment from playing the game as realistically as possible and any success we have is so much sweeter than those who cheat.
The huge financial restraints in the lower leagues means that these teams are almost always in heavy debt. Do you enjoy the struggle of having to sell your best players, not being able to get quality replacements in and not really getting anywhere in the league?
As Redbaron said, not all LLM clubs are heavily in debt. Zealots tend to go towards these clubs as they are more of a challenge. Turning a club round is very satisfying.
Or do you guys just think "short term pain for long term gain"?
All LLMs think long term for their club. They may occasionally do something short term, for example signing a loan goalkeeper in an injury crisis, but the majority of things are done with the long term in mind.
Do any of you stay at a struggling team throughout your entire career or do you try to get jobs at slightly bigger clubs (maybe in the same lower division) to improve your chances of success?
Different llamas do different things. Some take their little club as far as they feel they can. Others leave for a big team when the time is right.
Just wondered what's the general mentality of you guys. I'm a pretty decent manager and am interested in starting my FM2005 career at a lower league club so I would very much appreciate your replies
[b]Hope this has helped. Follow the LLM guidelines (game and forum) and we llamas will be interested in how you get on and developed your club and yourself as a llama.
I disagree with Nobby's statement that "most of us are rubbish". Given the same set of circumstances and using no cheats I'd pit a LLaMa against any other style of manager and put my money on the LLaMa, since we have to use our mettle to get the best out of players tactically and with training and not using super-players, super-tactics and editors.
"The huge financial restraints in the lower leagues means that these teams are almost always in heavy debt. Do you enjoy the struggle of having to sell your best players, not being able to get quality replacements in and not really getting anywhere in the league?"
I don't see it being a struggle selling my best players. By the time you sell your best players as a LLaMa, you already have a youth player to take his place.
You see, when you are in LLM, you have to accept your role. Yes we want to win promotion and be a big club, but for now we are producing some of the top players for the higher league sides. It is just one of those things.
I hope you stick around here, as you seemed to have read the guidelines and you can space your paragraphs.
Welcome to LLM and trust me, Once you are here, there is no going back.
* We start the game with little tactical knowledge, yet will not listen to those with much superior knowledge who may want to help us.
* We are fully aware that there are players around who we could sign who would vastly improve our squads, yet will stick our fingers in our ears if anyone tries to tell us about them.
* There is an easy way that we could instantly improve the abilities of all the existing players at our clubs and give ourselves a nice big cash injection, but we won't even countenance the suggestion.
Remember that "realism" also means not unrealistically hobbling yourself when playing CM....and not getting bogged down by rules. You're still supposed to enjoy the game.
If you stray from the straight and narrow the LLaMas will soon guide you back to the path of righteousness
Generally, I will only use the player search screen to look for transfer-listed GKs, but even then only when I really, really need one as quickly as possible. And then I deal with the consequences.
