Myself I use the filtering options to filter through lists of transfer listed players when I need a player quickly due to injury crisis or shock retirement. I am completely uninterested in attributes though. I'll send out my scouts to the players in question and will see what they have to tell. I will also take a look at the previous records of the player in question, like who he played for, how he performed over the long term, whether he had some serious injuries, and so on.

I guess, I'd be the typical manager who watches his best striker play and score heaps, questioning himself "I have no idea how he does it, and I don't care how. "

Oh, and to the LLM managing abilities. Sometimes I had huge success with a club and then I feel that I was really good. More often though I get sacked or just can't get out of the lower league or fail in a different way. So there's no way to tell. :thup:

This usually means i have a thirty year career with a club, of course this is mainly possible due to the additional patience you are given by the boards at lower level, otherwise id be out the door quicker then Mark at a Salad Bar

I never use Player filters. I even sign loans from my shortlist only. That is exactly why I use really small amount of loanees.

This is generally my practice and is why I end up with gigantic shortlists and lots of news items and offered players. Also makes it hard when you just arrive at a team and you send out your one scout and he comes back with 0 players!! I suppose to be fair his stats were dogs ******** so he is just performing to his ability, but still .

Ditto. My shortlist is made up of players my scout has found, and they are my only option when it comes to loans. Makes that first year at the club all so much harder (and more enjoyable)
