Having seen how East Stirling have really struggled in the league lately I fancied a difficult challenge. And so I have become manager.
New Years Day - Season 1
Started promisingly. Lost to a 120th minute winner against Hamilton (D2) in the cup, before beating Gretna in the peague and drawing with Peterhead. Then it went downhill from there. Thankfully, having beaten Queens Park a couple of times has seen me keep above them in what is a close league.
League Position - 9th of 10 Points - 19pts Points off promotion - 15
Signings to note
None really. Quickly signed a new scout to take the count to two. Sent them both out to the UK & Ireland and England. Came back with a few players which originally seemed promising but have found it very difficult to adapt to the new lifestyle. thus the league position and a large group of strikers all on £10 a week and very poor morale. Which makes goalscoring hard.
Prospects
Recently signed a the sort of striker I have been after. Someone to use as a target man. Wanted to build a strong and physical team, but the players are just not out there. He should fit in well and help set up my other, pacier strikers.
As to the league, if this striker is the answer then mid-table is possible though realistically 2nd from bottom will do. Anything else is a bonus.
Job Offers
Despite only being manager for 5 months i have already received 3 job offers. 1 from Port Vale who were 23rd in Div 2. Oxford 23rd in Div 3, and Queens Park, the team below me. Rejected them all as only been manager for a few months and want to take East Stirlingas far as possible first, plus offers from Port Vale already is unrealistic.
Hope this doesn't read too much like a story? That would just be wrong now.

Define lately.
KUTGW! Job offers suck in 03/04. Turn them down until you feel you've earned it.
