I have a Pentium 4, 1.6GHz, 256 MB RAM. So, if I want to play CM 03-04 running a large DB, I can only play one league.
I've tried running England, Italy and Spain, but no good... Even running only England and Italy it seems like the transfer windows will extend forever.
So, I have two main questions:
1. Do I lose TOO MANY realism running only one league??
2. Which of those three countries (England, Italy and Spain)is the most funny overall?? I've only really LLMed in England, although I'm very aware of those leagues' rules, just wondering about the best to manage.
Flea, I only run the English league on Large DB with an 1800XP 1024mb SDRAM. It's fast enough for me, and I never manage anywhere else. Now North/South is included I will never ditch England, Although I may start a game in Italy if I am feeling frisky. :p
I also just run England on large DB usually. I nearly moved into Jockland following Frank's advice, but when I loaded the game up I selected English leagues by accident.
I have a similar spec PC to Craig0 and this runs fine, and there are tons of players featured - I really don't think you'll miss not having Spain or Italy there too much.

A likely story
For me it depends on the mood I am in when I start a save...
Usually it's 10 to 18 divisions loaded on large database, but my most addictive save is one with only Spain loaded at the moment... I'm in the late 2020's and the game only gets better and better as time goes by.
I've recently bought a 512Megs more to leave my PC specs on AMD XP 2600+ with 1024 Megs of RAM and I must say those extra 512 Megs have increased the processing speed a lot (30% to 40% faster I'd say).
It all depends on how patient you are (if you're able to go through transfer periods without speed hindering your experience I'd say load as many divisions as your PC can stand on recommended. It pays off afterwards.)
But, even if I run a game with Medium DB size with Argentina, Brazil, England, Italy, Spain and Germany, it gets so annoyingly slow during transfer windows.
I've started a game running Poofland and Jockland leagues yesterday, is looking fine so far.
Can't wait until the end of the year when I'll buy a computer and retire the dinosaur I have home...
