Default Expansion of Tamworth Stadium possible?

Hi. Not been playing CM for way too long, and have had a go at it recently. Almost done with my first season now with Tamworth. Either they are like a forbidden team in LLM or I just did quite well. I picked the team as I hadn't heard about them before, assumed they were *****. Walked to promotion, so I have been asking the board to expand the stadium a few times already. They say it's no need, even though it was packed for every game, untill the promotion was official, then it dropped down to around 2500. Lambs Ground takes 4100.

I haven't applied any patches (4.1.1), but downloading 4.1.4 now. Takes forever on modem though...

Is it a bug in the game, or is it actually possible to expand the stadium? They won't build better training facilities either. Seems kinda strange as I cut my wage budget to 675 pounds a week, so I have about 650.000 at the beginning of June. With that kinda money, I should be allowed to make some kinda improvement.

Are my board members twats, or is it a bug in the game?

It isn't that much money for a stadium expansion.

As far as Tamworth are concerned, I don't know if they start in the conference or not. If they do, there's no problem about them at all.

A lot of clubs are almost impossible to expand. It all depends on what rating they have for expansion - something that we don't investigate in LLM.

If you find that Tamworth is a village of less than 6000 people, it is highly unlikely that stadium expansion is going to happen.

I would stop and get 4.1.5 first of all. You are probably best starting a new game so all the fixes take effect.

I have been with Tamworth also and go no where near promotion. The board are not going to expand the stadium until you are a pretty big club. I would expect Divison 1 or 2 before they even consider expansion.

Welcome to LLM btw!

You're probably right. But I would think they could at least turn some stands into seats, we've only got around 500 seats.

I get way too attached to my games to drop them. It may be a little ghost-town, but it's my ghost-town now
I will get spanked in the coming years as wages are bound to go up. Am negotiating for some starlets compared to my current team, but they will blow my current wagelevel.

I may have been lucky with a few players then, as most on this level probably have 0s all over the place. I've got a striker that's banging them away, at least in the first half of the season.

Thanks for the welcome, I like it down here. And I can't wait for FM05, it looks really great

Tamworth had their first season in the Conference last season, which meant they made their debut as CM playable team from the start in 03/04.

They did well to survive their first season (just, though as it turned out, the teams relegated didn't get relegated) and have made a good start to this one, sitting in around 7th place at the moment.

The Lamb Ground is an absolute **** hole. One small, nice stand surrounding by three long but very thin terraces that look like out of proportion garden sheds.

Tamworth itself is a small town in South Staffordshire famous for the following three things.
1. Drayton Manor Park Theme Park & Zoo is just up the road.
2. The Snowdome.
3. Birmingham is nearby.
Having said this, Tamworth > Nuneaton

Residents seem friendly though.

Oh, the stadium... it is possible to expand, but not by much. On one side is a busy main road with the Snowdome behind it, whilst there is housing on the other three. If Tamworth ever did make it to the higher leagues, they would have to move grounds.

Local lad, eh?

Thanks for the Tamworth details, always nice to know something about the current team. Last time I managed Stevenage, and ended up checking up on them from time to time.

It will probably be hard to make it next season, but I hope the economy won't go down the drain. Think I should manage to stay in 3rd, but we'll see. Once things go wrong, they usually go very wrong

Have gotten 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 down now, so will apply them before the new season, and see what happens. Does it have much effect without starting a new game btw? It says savegame compatible on the tin...
