I also scout all players I sign, anything else just wouldn't feel right. When my goalie was injured, I did do a search for loan-listed players, checked out a fair number, and put my scouts on the most interesting ones. As it turned out nobody wanted to slip down the division for a few months, but would that have been okay? Would it be okay to do the same procedure with transfer listed players, or Bosman "listed" players?
I know there exist lists online with information that one could argue would be something similar, but it's still not quite the same.
And one more question. How much money must one have before you can send the scouts out of the UK? I have worked up 1.2M now, but as a 3rd Div team, it is still not very likely I would send scouts to Scandinavia and Central Europe. It's hard enough to get players from England. Abroad would probably be impossible.
Sorry for all the updates on my current game, but this one I just have to tell.
I've had the cuprun of my life so far, earning a fair amount of money in the process. In the quarter final of the League Cup I met Manchester United at home. As I saw their lineup with eight first-teamers and two half-regulars, I set my mark on a 0-5 loss. Went out defensively and didn't get run over for some strange reason
Had some fringe chances in the 1st half, and deserved a 0-0 scoreline. They subbed a DR, and 65 mins in, he threw a kick at one of my strikers. You're off mate!
They still took control of the game, but I had some nice chances, and actually led the shots-on-goal stats when the game ended in a 0-0 draw.
Then the God of marvels. 10 minutes in overtime, freekick 30 yards out on the left side. My MC passes the ball out further left, he puts it right back. The same MC shoots from 30 yards, and hits it home!
I was jumping up and down
Then they got a guy injured, and didn't have anybody to replace him, so now I was facing only 9 guys. Still world-class players, but they had given up now, and I passed the ball around, almost scoring a second, and won the game
On top of this magnificent game, I drew Newcastle in the semis. That will probably get me a million pounds in the away game. Should open up for some nice summer signings. Perhaps I can even renew some of the zillion contracts that expire this summer. Would've been nice
