Having always done my LLMing in the Scottish league, I finally got interested in doing something else. My latest game saw me take over Wakehurst in the Northern Ireland 2nd division. I have to say, this league makes the Scottish 3rd division seem like the EPL. 1000 capacity ground (no seated), no money, players on £25 part-time deals- a whopping £12 in merchandise sales through four months, and £75 in season ticket sales . No pace or technique at all. What a blast! If you haven't given this league a look, its well worth it. I can't see ever making anything out of this club, but that's what makes it wonderful
Yeah, Northern Ireland has got to be the worst multi-division league in the game. I once started a game with Chimney Corner or something but had the same problem I've had in countries like Croatia, China or Hong Kong - just can't seem to get that bonding feeling. Still a nice starting point for a career game, I just wouldn't want to be stuck in Northern Ireland forever.

In 01/02 I found NI stupidly easy (read my update thread).
Hope you struggle a little more, you'll get some enjoyment that way <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
I think 03/04 NI is probably not that difficult to be moderately successful just because all the other teams are also bad. What I see as the larger challenge is the finances and being able to put together a team that can do something in the CL or UEFA cup.
Let's say I manage to get Wakehurt up to the NI PL and win that- something I think that is pretty possible given the state of league- what I can't see is being able to win in Europe. Right now my side is shaking in its boots at the thought of playing a team like Gretna, and I can't imagine what would happen against a side like Rangers or Celtic, or Blackburn etc., not to mention teams beyond the isles. Even St. Pat's Athletic and Bohemians seem daunting.
Tim, a classic example of what you say is Robbo's update in Wales. It has proven to be almost impossible to star in European competitions with such teams.

I have always found their manager to be a bit scary

Hehehe, well I just mentioned them because in my last save they were in the UEFA cup a couple of times . Of course, I didn't think I needed to mention Arsenal, Man U. or Chelsea. If Gretna or Kilkenny City frightens my lads, that lot is inconceivable to play against
i've just started my first ever game of CM and as a newbie started in English Div 3 so I :o had some reference point. I am planning to start a different game once I learn the ropes a bit and considered NI Division 2. After your description this sounds like a lot of fun and a challenge to boot. I am finding Div 3 challenging enough at the minute in terms of financial management. I think my club will go broke soon due to some stupid pay rise decisions I made in renewing player contracts.
