As for the not so polite way of you asking me to respect your request, I point you to...

LLM fanatics; I'm looking for feedback with regards to the FM 2005 Beta Demo and Lower League Management.
I would like direct problems discovered in the FM 2005 Beta Demo to be reported here; these would be specific issues that affect your enjoyment of LLM, be it a game play problem or an annoyance with the interface that slows you down.
There are a couple of guidelines I'd like you to follow which will enable me to manage this post more effectively.
+ One post per problem discovered (a post being a reply in this thread).
+ Only report issues discovered in the FM 2005 Beta Demo.
Note: The 2D Match Engine has been improved and refined a fair amount since the Beta Demo code was made available.
For a list of changes to the Match Engine feel free to pop into this thread for a gander:- http://community.sigames.com/eve/for...54&m=189204764

My comments were about points of the interface which slowed me down, which would fit under the bolded passage above.
It's fine if you want me to stay on LLM-related points only, however, your request didn't specify that explicitly.

Onto another point, I can't see it being possible that in a team report that a Conference North side could have a team that is made up of a team which gets 5 stars, yet the club I chose has just that in the starting XI, no matter which player I insert into the line up, and no matter on their position. When a GK is slotted into a DML position and still gets 5 stars, something is up. I know an Ass Man can't be perfect, but...
Sorry if that's been mentioned in GQ, but I couldn't see it.

Heh, don't take it personally and two 'Continue' buttons surely makes it quicker for you rather than slow you down.
The reason why I asked is because it's easy for everybody to steer off-topic (as happens right across the forums) and that makes it a little more difficult for me to manage.
Generally I'm too nice anyway and will answer your queries if I can. |

Another thing, now, which isn't strictly LLM, but pertains to us more than it would anyone else, is the inclusion of staff salaries on the wage budget screen. We'll attempt to keep the wages under budget, but then we still see our club go further and further into debt. Is there any way to have the staff salaries listed under the wage budget too, and have the budget adapted, if necessary, to reflect the additions? It's just nice to have all salaries listed in one spot.

This makes a lot of sense, however we're now bound by what's known as 'Text Lock' which means we can't add new strings to screens (as it affects the translation of the game).
I'll raise this as something to review and look at for the future though.

Neil: I supose this will have been fixed, but there's no harm in asking.
I was managing this tiny basque side, you know? And after raising the team from 2nd B to 1st Division in some 7 seasons I found out that we still didn't have a sponsorship and that in fact we never had had one.
Although I agree that Santurtzi C.D. might be too small to have a sponsor IRL, there should be some way to get one if you raised them out of anonymacy (sp?)
Another thing: Some seasons before managing Santurtzi I got to manage Europa de Nava (a tiny asturian side). After some going up on the divisions we finally convinced the local board to expand the 1500 non-seater stadium. We started the works and set to a new stadium while the works lasted (roughly one year).
Well, that was some 12 seasons ago and they haven't moved back to their home stadium (apart from the fact that during the works we seemed to play half our fixtures in the shared stadium and the other half in a reduced version of the being-expanded stadium).
What I'm trying to point out here is the fact that the works never were finished (I know spanish constructors ain't reliable, but even 12 seasons look way too much) and the fact that I got to play UCL in a 1500 non-seater stadium (which if I'm not mistaken would be impossible due to UEFA rules about stadiums).
I'm not sure if there's some rule about stadium size in Spain (which there should), but I'm positive that sometimes teams promoted to Conference or any other of the many Divisions in the United Kingdom don't comply the rules about stadium capacity.
I know what I'm going to say might sound a tad crazy, but I'd rather see the game not allowing me to go up through the divisions due to stadium capacity (or the team having to undertake a huge loan to expand the stadium or a new president getting in and building the new stadium with the city council) than end playing Chumps League in a stadium which doesn't comply with a single UEFA rule...

2 more things which affect LLM. (also posted in the other forum)
Playing as Bognor Regis
I succesfully managed to arrange 12 pre-season friendlies with Premiership clubs.
This raked in 360,000 for my club.
I also found a bug which allows me to sign players for next to nothing.
Make a £0 bid for a listed player who plays in the premiership whose salary is affordable (up to a few hundred pounds) if they reject then try £0 and 5% next transfer fee.
When they negotiate (e.g. xxx Club wants £350,000 for the player), don't press respond. Select the players name and then select Change transfer bid. Inside the screen is your original £0 bid, and Accept demands in available.
Press Accept demands and you buy the player for £0 after contract negotiations.

purely cosmetic this...
but when u select your team in the conference north and begin the game i've noticed that the numbers look odd i.e.

11 107 9 8 63 5 4 2

it would be nice if it looked like this...

9 107 6 8 113 5 4 2

it would be nice to have your striker as 9 instead of 11 etc.
like i said its pruely cosmetic, and it ain't no game breaker
oh and while i'm here...
any chance of the player select screen, staying the same, instead of going back to its original format? eg. i sort by postion so it goes GK to SC but when i press continue and go back, its not stored as being sorted. again not again game breaker but annoying. Its the same with the tactics screen, why isn't the squard sorted sorted with the starting 11 plus subs in order like on CM01/02?

Actually, Forgotten, however you make it, it's not correct. You'd have to put in a scheme for almost every country, because due to different culture and customs, not everywhere the same "default" numbers are given. In huge parts of the world, the "11" is used for the second striker, whereas the "10" marks the playmaker.
The system that SI has put in place is easy to use for a reason too - that way the midfielders are grouped together, as are the forwards and the defenders. |
