WB Bryce..whatever happened to that online game, anyway? I went on holiday for a couple of weeks, and it was gone.

IIRC there was one acceptable use of the spawn, to set an option on/off that changes colour schemes (i.e. instead of red/green in the training screen), for people with colour blindness.

I know that I have nothing close to the seniority and respect that all of you elder llamas who have expressed themselves on this issue, but at the risk of being roasted, I don't see the harm of using the editor to correct a problem (in essence, an error), that has been imposed upon SI and us by UEFA or FIFA, and motivated solely by greed or exiting contractual obligations that prevent the granting of a license to SI.

Do we rellay have to engage in a knee jerk reaction and refuse to use the editor to simply rename a tournament the UEFA Cup or Intertoto Cup. I know that my personal enjoyment of FM will be enhanced when I see the correct tournament name used. I am confident in my own discipline not to use the editor for any other "unholy" function. It is the same discipline I use to scout within my borders, or using my selective memory to know that despite the fact that Heinrich Ballsplatter was a great Swiss striker in my last save, I have to forget that fact in this new game I am playing.

That's fair comment I'd say redbaron. Take some of the 'roasting' with a pinch of salt anyway. (good metaphor, eh? )

I can only speak for myself, but my main gripe with an editor is that I've heard they make savegames much less stable, no matter what you do with them. I much prefer the long-term career game, so I'd rather leave them alone.

Doesn't bother me in the slightest that competition names are wrong (or simply not the official name) - i.e. the Vans Trophy, Welsh Premier Division, etc. instead of the sponsored name. Can see why it would bother some people though, especially if their team's stadium name or colours were out of date.

LLM's don't use The Spawn. Use them, post elsewhere. Simple.
