With FM2005 not out till November i've decided to go back to my roots of LLM enjoyment and gave CM01/02 a perhaps 'final' run
Quickly fired up CM01/02 with the latest patch and decided to load up the following leagues Brazil, Germany, English, Scottish ( ) Swedish, Greek, Itailan and maybe a few other leagues which i have forgotten :o
I always had in my mind that the German leagues were going to be my starting grounds, purely because i have never played in the german leagues at all :o
I had a quick look at 'Project X  ' and decided that Chemnitz looked like a good Lower league club to be with, not too much money (£105,000) and a Chairman thats looks like he has some patience Chemnitz Season 2001/2002
After arriving at Chemnitz i quickly learnt that the squad was dead wood, i only had 2 or 3 decent players to try and impress this season, something which i didn't quite do.
After 20 games and the winter break i found myself sitting 14th in the league out of 18 places, and the prospect of a relegation battle once the winter break was through. Fortunatly for me the relegation battle never came and i finished 11th postion after an impressive 9 game unbeaten run where we collected 17 points. Only two players were worth their value one been an 21yr old midfielder who got 22 goals (half of my goal total  ) and another player who was signed as 'one for the future' a 16yr old who grabbed 11 goals in 10 starts.
Pre season saw a a few British based players come in and a few German dead wood go out, however with half the team still not capable of playing football full stop a long and hard season follows up.
Keep you updated

Chemnitz! \o/
Used to live there for two months. Horrible town. Until 1990, it was called "Karl Marx Stadt", btw. |

Punching a player and getting a straight red  at first its a one-game ban, but that then follows up with a 6 game ban
Just out of interest, why have i swapped from been the south in my first season to the north in my second is this meant to happen?
Also does anyone who has played German Leagues in Cm01/02 notice that alot (around 5 clubs per season) get brought out and have tons to spend (6million in one case  )

You probably picked a team that is pretty central geographically. Depending on how northerly/southerly the new teams to your tier are may mean having to redraw the league boundaries each season. More teams south of you have been promoted/relegated into your level than teams to the north of you.

Yup, mkus is right. Although this is a rather new rule in German football. Only a couple of years ago, every team was put into the leagues according to their regional state, and it was possible that one division was larger than the other one. Stupid system. :o |

As to that, it's realistic. Lots of clubs are pushing really hard for promotion. Some of those clubs have lots of supporters, lots of history, and risk a lot financially. Other teams risk a lot so they are able to at least compete with the other ones. So, in the end, lots of clubs go bankrupt. An example for that is the VfB Leipzig, who was executed last season.
