Convert the evil one!

We all know the promotion system on CM03/04 was far from perfect, but we won't touch the editor. I hope things will be better for FM, but if it isn't it won't bother me too much.

In fact, this is quite serious problem really. As for reputation, there is a 20 point scale... and if Conference teams have about 4-5-6 (I don't know, but it is probably something like this, if Arsenal is 20)... then what reputation have the last team in 6th level? Reputation 1 or 2? ...then what reputation have the last team in the 7th level? UPS - we've got a big problem here. .... this would mean all teams in the 7th level are equal... Reputation is also good for attracting players -> so player wouldn't care if it is team with the best or the worst squad in the league, all of them will be the same.
I will discuss this with SI probably in different forum. They should change all scales at lest to 1-50 or 1-100. ...1-20 is too low now.

All I want to say is, if relegated Conference N/S teams will have reputation about 2-3 and other lower league teams most of them (if not almost all) 1 ...then surely those relegated teams will have allways higher probability to be promoted back to the league again and again. And I believe that's why it happens also in CM and needs to be changed. If not by SI, then by editor.

Maximus offers a very plausible theory as to the technical reason the problem exists. I can certainly see why it would be a recurring issue in that regard.

Unfortunately the only solution to this would be using an editor, and thus we in LLM are gonna be stuck with the same old teams coming up whether we like it or not.

Maximus have a look at the forum header mate

LLM forbids using of the editor (a.k.a spawn of satan) so untill SI fix this 'problem' then it will be here to stay

welcome btw

This is an issue that will be improved for Football Manager 2005 (and I personally raised this one with the team several weeks ago).

Seems to me like it won't be much of a problem anymore (hopefully).

And UWIC (University of Wales Institute Cardiff) have been playable as a normal team in the Welsh Premiership in various previous CM versions and i think they occasionally get promoted back up in 03/04.

The really interesting scenario would be if a team like Metropolitan Police get promoted from step 4 to step 3 and thus potentially become playable. Whilst anyone can be offered a sports scholarship at Uni, and teams like Vauxhall Motors or Airbus UK are no longer 'company teams' as far as i know, all Metropolitan Police players have to be coppers working inside the M25.

Sorry to drag an old post back up, but this does't apply any more. They've got quite a few non-coppers playing this season (and a fair amount of cash for Level 3 behind them as well!)
