After experiencing game crashes with my two previous Barnet saves, I decided to take them on again about a year later (A real year, not a CM year).
Playing CM 01/02 3.9.68 (Still playing 01/02 until I get a new computer, which I've been saying for the good part for a year now), I loaded up the English league in the foreground, with the Spanish and Italian leagues running in the background, with all the feeder divisions active.
The board wanted a respectable league position, which seemed about right to me too. No money to bring in any signings, so I had to stick to the players at my disposal. Arranged two friendlies against local sides Berkhamsted and the despised Enfield, and accepted another friendly challenge aginst Bury in the pre-season. Drew against Bury 1-1, beat Berkhamsted 2-0, and won against Enfield 1-0, which is the only friendly that really mattered!
Signed two old farts to become player/coach and player/assistant manager, with decent coaching stats.
We got off to a very good start in the first league game at home against Margate, winning 5-1, sending us to the top of the table on the first day. Went on a freaky run thereafter, winning the next 14(!) games, until we finally drew in the 15th game of the season. Stayed unbeaten in the league (Although we lost against Canvey Island in the FA Cup qual. round 0-3, full strength team and everything) until the 20th game, where we lost against Scarborough, 0-2 away.
We were still top of the league though, and stayed there all the way Played 42, won 30, drew 8 and lost 4. Total goal diff 98-36.
Had to sell a four players in the middle of the season, all were regular first-teamers, but that didn't seem to affect the team much, especially since we got £825K for the lot of them, which helped to buy replacements, and some young talent, totalling £325K.
Signed three Bosmans, one 24 yr old D/AM R, a D/DM L, and a D R/C.
Fortunately th board decided to extend Underhill's capacity from 4600/1000 to 6000/1000 in order to get into to division 3, so that's where we are now!

Erm, I don't hate you. I support Barnet IRL, and despise Enfield. And Stevenage.
The two old farts both decided to retire during the off-season, but stayed on as assistant manager and coach respectively. Then the one who was on coach duty decided to leave for Charlton when they approached him. He signed on for £550 a week, which is less than I paid him. Stupid *******...
The board expected us to fight bravely against regulation, where as I was aiming for a mid-table position, especially since I knew we weren't going to be able to keep our star man and player of the season, a two-footed N Irish AM R/L/C (used mostly on the left). he was eventually solf off to Cardiff for £325 K, in addition to a 25% sell-on clause, £100K after ten league games played, and a Welsh AM R/C in exchange. The money we got after the ten league games was good, the Welsh bloke wasn't.
We floated around just below the play-off places during most of the season, until the second to last game of the league, courtesy of a 0-0 draw (We drew a lot) away to Bristol Rovers
One of the off-season buys, a 32 yr old English DM C for £20 K, performed really consistently, unlike the rest of the team, and even deputised as captain a few times.
My regular captain a 31 yr old D RC, and team's highest earner, continued his downward spiral in form from last season. I tried offering him a new contract (He's got three years left of it, but I wanted to reduce his wages), and he accepted a $500K/week paycut. In the next game he missed a penalty in the 90th minute!
The refereeing in div 3 was ****-poor, I lost track of how many goals that were disallowed. I do know that many of them would was in the last ten minutes and probably game-winning though!!! Not to mention the number of times we had perfectly good penalty claims denied... Complained about the refereeing decisions a total of two times in the season, and the FA agreed on both ocassions. Helluva lot good that does me... At least I didn't get fined for my outbursts, like last season
A strange thing happened in on of the last league games of the season: I had brought in a 23 yr old SC from Sunderland on loan, recommended as an excellent signing by both of my scouts. he got an 8 in a game, and afterwards both of the scouts "were impressed with 23 year old forward 'Firstname Lastname' while watching Barnet's 2-2 draw with Lincoln City." Well yes I've heard about him, he's playing for us now!!!

Erm, that should obviously had said: when we clinched a play-off spot in the second last game of the league...
