Well, what if they do? Why should we care? SWYCT doesn't exist IRL, it doesn't even exist in CM but still, most (if not all) of us play accordingly to this guideline. I fail to see what connection there is between what you first posted and this forum.

Will we see another "public apology" thread?

I think some/many teams use CM/FM to scout for players, as it's the cheapest way, and SI has a huge number of scouts around the world. Whether they can actually attract interest from "CM stars" is another question though.

Btw, I thought this thread had some merit, had it not degenerated into an ethics thing. I really do think some teams have scouted by CM chris51 - maybe you should stop digging and see what develops. It's almost always more interesting and fun than questioning the ethics.

As I have posted above, I embrace the no scout/search ideal.

I thought it amusing to think of all those real managers out there with their 'saved filters' while the virtual managers played it by the book.

Much to learn I have oh wise ones. I really must become as pious as you lot. It's the way forward.

To put this thread back on topic a little, I know of an instance that happened IRL, regarding CM.
Back end of last season, the son of one of the coaching staff at Bristol Rovers heard that his dad's team were after a left back, but were having no joy in signing one.
After checking his CM side, he learned that a left back from a division one club that seemed to fit the bill was out of contract in the summer.
The coach presented the idea to the manager, the manager invited the player down for a trial, and now he has made the signing permanent.

However, one would assume that these sort of occurrences are the exception and not the rule, though I'd say for sure it goes on.

Seeing as this is on the LLM forum, I would like to point out that I personally use LLM guidelines to play the game rather than what could be seen as bizarre circumstances as detailed above. There are also some other personal views I have on how I feel playing LLM is realistic, but I'll leave those for another time and another place.
