I've not played FM demo much to have come across this, but I'd be surprised if that many agents approached the lower league sides with vidoes...perhaps a bit maybe, but if the bloke has an agent I'd think they'd be aiming higher.
Still, I'd say if you're approached by an agent with video footage, that would give you some idea of the player, so you might know some stats. Then I'd say scout him because you can never trust an agent anyway.
Do you trust the agent? I think it comes down to getting someone you trust to run the rule over them. I'll still be scouting them I think - it's just another way to hear of players worth scouting.
I very much doubt we'll see much of agent videos until we get into the higher echelons. In 03-04, for contract negotiations, you always seem to talk to the player until about 1st Div level in England, at which point some players will have the statement that "<player>'s agent has indicated that a contract..." rather than "<player> is expecting for a contract..."
I'm not questioning the Agents ethics, more raising a point where if an agent sent us a video who was currently playing in a country that isnt covered by SWYCT or SYB, is it within the LLM ethics to scout him or not?
Well, I havent had the agents approach me in the beta and Gold demo games as Conference South teams, but if an agent did approach me, i cannot see what would be wrong with scouting/trialing/signing the player, surely its little different to accepting and signing a player in an exchange deal (never been told if thats wrong or not, always assumed it wasn't) The agent has basically done some of the scouting for me, all i have to do is decide if the agent is misrepresenting the truth in much the sameway i decide on how good a new scout is who i don't fully trust yet.
Of course the agent will have the players best bits. Perhaps you will not send a scout over if the country is not covered in SYB, but perhaps get him on trial.
Perhaps the finances will then be billed to the agent, who wants his player signed up?

So asking a player that is outside of our normal scouting areas over for a trial because the game made him known to us is ok, but sending a scout to darkest Africa is against the "rules" ?
One key element there though is the fact that you're not "blindly" inviting a player outside your SYB region over for a trial. You've been approached and presented some information on this player. It's quite different than using player search and inviting players in for trials which I don't agree with.
