For all the BBQs and closed threads, you'd have to assume that people don't read the guidelines. Guilty until proven innocent in these here parts, unfortunately.

(oh, and I haven't decided yet whether to start unemployed. I may, if I'm electing to start with MLS and it works like previous CMs did in running through to the January of that MLS season - in FM's case, January 2005)

I don't think I will use the option. In the beta demo (haven't had chance to try in the Gold), you could apply for jobs, but it would automatically accept you for the first job that became available.

There's just some jobs that I wouldn't take. Basically this made this option useless to me. If you set it to go on holiday and applied for some jobs before hand, you are stuff with the first one you get a reply from.

Obviously, I dare say that someone will correct me if this is different in the Gold demo.

In the gold demo if you start unemployed in England, basically you will be managing Exeter in Conference National as they are the only LL club with no manager at the start.

There were quite a few sackings in my game though, by clubs at the bottom of conference north and south.

One worrying thing was that even though the club I was managing wanted mid table, I was 6th and already managed to get a job in Division 3 (jumping up 2 divisions within a few months). Addmitedly I did apply for the job and the club was on the bottom of division three but still....

Don't think I will use it. I pick teams from colour (and name), and that's the way I will do it for FM too. Would like to start playing immediately as well, not wait around for x months first.

As with most things I'm sure I'll give it ago once, but in the same way as nailing my babymaking kit to the kitchen table i'm sure it is something I will try just the once :eek:
