Don't the MacBook Airs come with software to 'borrow' the CD/DVD drive of another computer? So if you have another computer in the house then you can leave the CD in that.
Yep, Remote Disc is the software. It remains to be seen if the CD Detection software used in FM can use the same system to check the original Disc.
Haven't they announced a "wireless" drive to go with the Macbook? It'll pair up and act as a genuine disc drive, no telling if copy protection will acknowledge this though.

if you create a disk image of your copy of the game with disk utility then you are able to run the game without a cd.
i think this goes against the fm license agreement. so its illegal
nah it's not illegal if it's for personal use and you own the game, your allowed to make back ups of a game, dvd, software that you have purchased. disk utility can make an .dmg of a cd/dvd and can be loaded from your hard-drive. quite handy i think as it saves you having to use your disk drive whilst playing and you can keep your FM disk all new and in the box. you can find disk utility in applications/utilities.

Does this mean, you'll need two computers on just to operate one cd/dvd reader? Forgive my ignorace. We don't have this in my mountain, so to speak. Global warming galor! LOL
