Default starting a long term game,...which patch do i need to d/l please?

i bought FM08 back in november but have only recently had time to sit down properly and take it on, i recall all the problems with the match engine/training progression/ youth progression.

i have just installed the game and want to start a long term file with nottm forest or newcastle.

please can some one let me kno which patch will i need to d/l..... just the 8.01 i would guess?

thx in advance for the help, domathon

ps. any clues as to when the transfer windown update will be released as i may w8 untill then to start with newcatle, also will it only be a player upd8 or will we get more fixes included?

The tranfer update and patch come out in february. i advice to wait untill then to start a long term, it's what i do

the 8.0.1 patch is fine. When/If there is a further patch released, and changes to the game will happen during your save game, when you install the new patch. (Although some maybe not untl the end of your current game season)

You will only need 8.0.2...

I am personally playing with beta patch 8.0.1 (thus not the latest one) since the latest is bug ridden. The beta patch reinstall is quite recommendable actually...

I'd wait. There is still major work to be done with the board confidence issues and this could make a long term game, especially with one club, very frustrating.

I'd start a few different shorter term games and play them until the 8.0.2 patch is released. Apparently though this won't be until March though.

The game is very playable and enjoyable with 8.0.1 but far from ideal.

thx for the advice guys, ill download 8.01 now and start a game, n that should keep me busy untill march when 8.02 is out
