I'm interested to see if the highest weekly wage increases from year to year in the game.

I'm in 2017 now. Highest wage is a whopping £170k a week, earned by Adriano.

Interestingly 9 of the top 20 are from Italian Clubs, 10 are from Spainish Clubs, and 1 from England. Torres at Liverpool, on 140k a week.

I can tell you that the highest wage in the English Championship in 2020 is £98k a week that Daniel Sturridge is being paid at Portsmouth. Portsmouth weren't recently relegated they have been in the Championship for at least 4-5 years and continue to pay him more with each new contract .

At Spurs in 2018 in the Championship, I just took over and noticed :
Paul Robinson (Reserves) 38 years old - £99,000 p/w
Darren Bent (Reserves) 33 years old - £90,000 p/w
£10million in one year on wages for these two. Wasn't impressed.
