i went on editor and edited some players stats and gave teams more money.now i have downloadd the patch will i have to play the patch in order for the new changes to work or can i play the version were i edited the stats but will the patch work on that.or am i better of playin the patch update

Providing you saved the changes that you made, this should have saved as a seperate database. When loading a game, it won't matter what database you use, the patch will still effect it.

cheers so i could still use the database i edited and the patch will still work?becaus wen u start new game it says default as option updater which i downloaded of this site,and also chris editor witch i changd stats on.so if i start new game of my ediotor the patch will still take effect?

Correct. Regardless of the database you use, the patch will still work.
