I am managing Ajax in Holland and we have feeder clubs in Japan, England, United States, Belgium, Germany, Spain and Portugal. We have had some of these links, and others, for over ten years. Not one of these clubs has ever asked for a single player on loan.
We are Ajax for goodness sake, we have quality youngsters and backup players coming out of our ears. Every year I have to send a dozen or so players out to my various feeders in the hope that they will need them or find them useful.
It would be extremely helpful if the clubs could be a bit more proactive when it comes to acquiring loan players from parent clubs. That what I could be sure that the clubs would be getting players they actually wanted and/or needed, and also that the player would get at least some playing time to aid his development.
