There is a topic called "Next Beckenbauer" somewhere on this forum. I was wondering - where does it say so in the game if the player is "next ..."?

Go to the Players "Personal" screen. Anything like that will be there

It can happen at any age, providing the player is 21 or under I believe.

What it needs is for the player to be good for his age, and have be a similar type of player to the said player. The next Bobby Moore for example, is likely to be a strong, commanding centre back.

Be warned though, whis is by no means a sign that the player is actually going to turn into a star.

Yes, it means that the player has similar playing styles, not that they're necessarily going to be the same player. I had a player in 07 touted as the next Jan Koller, and I played him virtually every game because I thought he'd end up brilliant. I eventually sold him when he turned out to be rubbish, and he didn't make a start for Shrewsbury in two years.
