does the latest game have one of those things whereby you can edit stats and data in your game to take effect immediatly if you understand me.
i ask because i want to take over a lower league club soon, but i don't want to reach the premier league to find my maximum capacity is a little over 3000.
this is one of the weaker points in the game imo.

you can't infinetly increase stadium capacities.
you couldn't in real life. you'd have to move stadium.
this is what should happen.
but then again the area for fans might not be that great for the club so they may never have enough fans to fill a 20000 seater stadium never mind a 50000 seater.

if a club such as AFC wimbledon reached the premier league i doubt that they would still only be reaching 6000 odd a week.

the max attendance is 26000 so it isn't too bad, but i dont want to take charge knowing i'll never be able to get more than 26ooo at my stadium.

wait...do you mean FM06? And if so theres FMM by Jpee in which you can edit stadium capacity straight away!probably doesn't help as i presume someone would have said by now!

just re reading this if i was to say move stadium would the club be able to get more than 26000? if so how would i hypothetically go about this.

AFAIK, you can't change stadiums in FM. What postie meant (I think ), is that in real life a club should move to a new stadium. In FM though, you will have to expand your current stadium, unless the club already has a new stadium assigned to it in the DB (fi Arsenal with their Emirates Stadium). To make things slightly faster, you might want to use FMM (as Gavin already said) to change your stadium capacity.
