Right, I've already got a list of players that I wanna check out in the upcoming FM07, and I'm wondering if there's any way I could create a shortlist now in FM06, that I could import into FM07 when it comes out? Would a FM06 shortlist be compatible with FM07?

I dont think the databases are compatible so I think the answer is no.

If the databases aren't compatible, then what I'd like to try to do is to simply take a list of the player ids of the players from my FM06 shortlist (I presume that the player ids are the same in FM06 as in FM07? They were identical in FM05 and FM06 anyway). It would be a lot easier to just copy and paste a load of id numbers into a shortlist file rather than having to add each player individually in the game itself. Would this be possible, and if so, how would I go about editing a FM07 shortlist file? - if I open up a FM06 shortlist file in notepad, it's all gobbeldy gook.

| Why you want to do that?? the players in FM06 may not be that good in FM07.. The potential ratings and attributes are definitely going to be different...
So a new shortlist in FM07 makes more sense..

| Just my way of doing things! It's not just the good players from FM06 that I want to add, it's the players that I think might be good in FM07 as well, regardless of how good or bad they are in FM06.
Surely there's some way of doing this?

You can import shortlists into 07 from 06.

If they're different databases, how can FM06 shortlists be compatible with FM07? Not bein smart or anything, just wondering.
And do you know of any way I can go about editing shortlist files outside of the game?
