Just bought FM08 and have been reading through the forum and have a few quesions I need answering. You should know I'm not the most techy. I hope you can help.
I'm reasonably familiar with the editor and I've been wondering if its possible to block foriegn teams from buying your players? Similiar Saudi Arabia in versions previous.
I'm confused by the CA and the PA. If a player has a PA of -8 does this mean he's a no hoper? Is it not better to have a CA of say 110 and a PA of 130?
Also,I haven't installed the game yet as I've always been aware of the various bugs so which patch should I install and where do I find it?

You cant block foreign teams from signing your players.
A negative PA means they will be given a random PA between a certain range. I dont know the exact values but it is something like this
-10 = 170 - 200
-9 = 150 - 180
-8 = 130 - 160
and so on...
CA is how good a player is and PA is how good a player can become. Once a players CA reaches his PA he can no longer improve. However his attributes can get readjusted through training but overall he will still be the same.
Get the 8.01 patch. It still has bugs but its the best one ATM.
