Hello fans of FM,from the beginning i would like to make some things clear:what i'm about to post are some of my conclusions after spending a lot of time playing the game, they may not match your own and that s why feel free to tell me when i'm wrong, and the second thing is that i'm sorry if i'll make too many spelling mistakes.
O.K. let's begin, first i think that in order to be successfull at this game you must let go the idea of instant success, why?,because in order of achieving it you must play most of the time offensive, and this has two flaws,1.the A.I is good,no doubt about it,so you might have success for let's say half a season, and then, and this happens to many people, you'll get stuck because the A.I. will play very defensive with 6,7 players and very attacking with the front 3 or 4,which leads to the other flaw, your defenders which had played most of the games with a mentality of 8,9,10 or even more won;t be able to cope with the A.I.,so you will try changeing the tactics, the confussion kicks in and you know the rest. With all that in mind,my deduction is this:at all times defenders must defend,i know start every tactic with this, and then it s time to create your own framework, tactics for home games, away, defending a lead at home, away, home against good teams, etc.by the way i've noticed that changing your tactic to fitt certain situations counts.Doing this will take some time untill your players adjust, but after they do you will now be prepared for every situation.i tried it with several teams and for me the second year of managing was the most successfull and not the first.
I hope you 'll find this interesting and i wait for your opinions, cheers
