I have noticed when the AI is behind or pushing for a winner late on, it reverts to a 4-2-4 more often than not, so i decide to try it myself to see if it would work for me.

Background:- I play as Rangers, first season, play a 4-4-2, arrows forward from wingers, holding lcm, and attacking rcm. Short passing, counter attacking system.

When i change to a 4-2-4 I put time wasting right down, passing long, use target man on, set Boyd( big, strong, good header) as target man, and mentality up to attacking.

Without fail it has worked in all 6 or 7 attempts including coming back from 2 dwn to win in eufa cup 3-2, and coming back from 2 down in game against Hibs after 20 mins, to win 4-2. Also turning 1-1 into 2-1 wins on two or three occasions.

It appears to always work.

I was wondering if anyone had tried this, or would like to try this, and also how you got on.

Yeah i agree with you,i posted a topic on this the other day.How to combat against this tactic...with not many replies.
So i used this tactic against the opposition when drawing or loosing.I had great success with this,works better than trying to defend a lead or hold out for a draw.

I quite often go 4-2-4 for the last half hour regardless of the score. I need to tone it down a little, having thrown away two 2 goal leads like it though...

Milky about your issue, with the opposition going onto 4-2-4. I found that a lot of teams doing this to me when I'm 1-0 or 2-1 up, and they did me everytime Now the one thing I have learned from try and try again is not to man mark them just go zonal, since I've done that they haven't scored.
