I know this is probably totally opposite of what people have been posting before. But I don't want my Defenders to close down until they opponent gets in the box. yet there always closing down outside the box and leave gaps for through balls. I've put there closing down on 1 and tackling on easy. Creative freedom is on easy. Does anyone have any comments on getting my defenders to play t he wauy i want.

From what i`ve observed in this game, the situation you are asking for is impossible. Central backs will close down if there is no player between them and the oposition striker. The closing down setting for CB is tricky, as I see it. Because even if he is on 1 closing down, he will leave his position if there is no player covering the oposition`s player who carries the ball.

yea that seems to be the way it works. It's kinda disturbing to me at the fact as well. I'm guessing SI cant win with this Closing down situation. I just wish they would divide the field into twenty parts. Have the slider be coordinated with that and just have them close down from there. Does that make sense?


If not heres what I mean. If the field is 100 yards long. the a 1 would be 5 yards from the touchline. 2 is ten yards from the touchline. 3 is fifteen etc etc etc. but that might just be too simple of a task.
