i tend to hang on to players well after their prime and they make up my reserves, and when they retire some of them make great coaches

The Transfer Policy typically resembles the following:

Season 1
In
- Only sign for positions that needs improvement.
- Incoming players must not be older than 22/23 worldclass players.
- As many 15/16/17/18/19 year olds as possible. I normally stock up in this area.

Out
- Absolute crap and aging

Season 2- This is where the fun starts
In
- Buy for positions that does not have a 18/19 year old waiting in the wings to be bedded in to the 1st Team.
- Again only buy below 22/23 worldclass players.
- As many 15/16/17/18/19 year olds as possible.
- Keep influential/popular players for Tutoring (ie Maldini, Nesta, Giggs)

Out
- Good offers rcvd even for 1st Teamers whom already have replacements in the Reserves.
- For players that dont want to leave are loaned out with full wages paid.
- Even Mutual termination to reduce squad size.

real madrid and arsenal formula.

buy 1 or 2 superstar player a season, and get all the wonderkids to be into my team also.

when players reached 29-31.. i'll start to cash out on them. age depending whether i really like the player or not.

As Man Utd I generally try to keep the key players in my team in some form.

Vds, neville, giggs, scholes all become coachs. Ferdinand about to become a coach. Silvestre soon to be a coach in about 1 more season.

I will transfer out reserves I dont think can make it and generally will only bring in a load of youth. Then I will stop most transfer action and focus on players from my own acadamy and hope that I can make an all english side eventually when the current foreign players finish there career.

I just cant bring myself to sell the current players

I'm playing with Walsall in the premier league and my reputation is such that even if I can afford a star names fee/wages, they often reject me. I therefore have signed a few epxerienced heads (Dyer, Ameobi, Guily, Stephen Hunt) and rely on kids like Lehtovaara, Gunter, Mattock, Nordtveit, Sohna, Cattermole, Dalle Valle and Hoilland. Basically I work on the kids improving, picking up an old player or two each year (ie had Gallardo and Yepes in the past) and getting a couple of good loanees (eg Cathcart, Kaboul, Taarabt). I'm steadily increasing my training facilities and stadium size and hopefully my rep will go up. Then in a couple of years I can add the odd star to my team of youngsters who have progressed steadily.

As someone who prefers to start in ther lower divisions generally I buy the cheapest players who are willing to come to my club and not until I have firmly established myself as premiership club do i start to buy just youth, though bI do allways by cheap young players in lower divisions I also buy players in the decline who are in there 30's. I dont really have the luxury of an age restriction policy.

I always have a very high turnover of players until I get ones Im really happy with. When selling a player, unfortunately imo they always have a price and look to move them on. I mainly buy in good young players and end up having to loan a lot out. Sometimes I buy them in, loan them out and then sell them on (dont even make a single appearence for me) for a profit. However, sometimes there are some older quality players available on a free which I try and get ( i got riquelme age 30 and ronaldo (brazilian legend) 31).

Im always looking to brivng in and sell on. Im like a transfer shop. My transfer policy, ultimately, sucks.

I usually sell all the players in my reserve sqaud who will never get a first team chance, I like to buy 3 or 4 top youngsters, One Big signing, One quality player for very cheap (usually on transfer list), and then just players who I need. I also like to give foreign plyers two seasons to settle and if they don't do the business in 2 seasons there out!
