Unione Calcio Sampdoria (commonly nicknamed Blucerchiati, blue-ringed) is a football club based in Genoa, Italy. The club was formed in 1946 from the merger of two existing sports clubs whose roots can be traced back to the 1890s; Sampierdarenese and Andrea Doria.
Sampdoria currently compete in the Italian Serie A. The team's colours are blue with white, red and black stripes, hence the nickname blucerchiati. Sampdoria play at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, capacity 36,536,[1] which it shares with Genoa's other club, Genoa Cricket and Football Club. The derby between the two teams is commonly known as the Derby della Lanterna.
Sampdoria have obtained the scudetto once in their history; during 1991. The club has also won the Coppa Italia four times (1985, 1988, 1989, and 1994). Their biggest European success came when they won the Cup Winners' Cup in 1990. They also reached the UEFA Champions League final in 1992 only to lose against the Spanish FC Barcelona with an 1-0 score after extra time.
The Ginnastica Sampierdarenese was founded in 1891, opening its football section in 1899. Also around this time, a club named Society Andrea Doria was founded in 1895, and began to increase their focus on dedicating itself to football.

Analysis
Well first things first is that the squad you have is average. Plain average. There are only one or two players that are first class in that team and one isnt even yours (cassano) the other being Palombo. Volpi is a decent midfilder but is aging. So replacements in almost every position are needed and with a relatively small budget for realistic targets, thats a big enough challenge in itself. Plus you have the EU regulations in place where you CANNOT buy more than 1 non-EU player a season :thdn: I suggest that if you want a war chest to play with, sell Palombo. You can get at least £15M for him as Man UTD are always willing to pay stupid money for his signiture. There are also a lot of 'on loan' players and this needs to be addressed in the transfer market as you wont be able to keep them for long and two of those players are Mirante who becomes a very good GK and Cassano who is your only option upfront basically. But there is hope as the team has a lot of potential with such youth as Poli and Foti in particular coming through. Plus the chairman wants to leave you, so money could be available if someone buys you out (hopefully one of Abramovich's mates). The club's fans always want to bring in the best (just like any club) and with past greats such as Chiesa and Vialli, there are big boots to fill.
So anyway enough from me, restore some much needed credability to Serie A buy completing the fairy tale story of Sampdoria by winning the Seria A title to the fans and bring back the glory days.

These are my transfers iv made so far. Iv also signed Reimond Manco however but he's not coming till August 2008. Hes a young Peruvian attacking midfielder, looks good and promosing. Qualifiying for the Uefa Cup atm should do it against some rubbish Isrealy side. Won first game 3-1 against Empoli.

took over sampdoria recently and its going good so far.started the game originally with l.a galaxy but got the sack even though i was looking good for second.wolves offered me their manager job and i took charge for 28 days untill i applied and got the sampdoria job.
ended up 15 million in death due to over indulging in the transfer market :eek:
got 7 million for ziegler so thats half of it

The American? ye hes doing well, attracting interest off Inter! looks good. what season u in? some good signings there btw :thup: i suggest a striker maybe cause im guessing its season 2-3? so they would have lost Cassano and Montella etc or is Foti coming of age on it? meant to be really good in the future.
