I'm managing Forest too although it took me 2 seasons to win promotion from the Championship, but then my squad aint half as good as yours

Kevin Wilson turned out really well for me, but he plays alot better at DC than at DR. He's been my captain from season 1 and he's averaged 7+ every season so far. Also Paul Smith has turned out to be a prem quality GK.

Main problem I'm having (I'm in 2011-2012 season) is that I don't have the reputation to attract players that will improve my squad, but I barely have a squad good enough to finish any higher and improve my reputation. Looking at the quality of your tem your rep must be higher than mine so I should think you'd be able to attract better players, but here's my squad anyway:

Your team is pretty decent, just you've taken a slightly different approach - I assume its because I got two successive promotions that my reputation boosted quicker. Still, I've really struggled to sign players and the majority of the big names I signed were past it by a long way. In November 2010 now, and looking good in the Prem for once.

7th in the league after 11 games, have scored the most (29) but also conceeded the most (25).

After a bit of a re-shuffle here's my squad:

GK - Pletikosa / Dida / Corradini (Akinfeev coming in Jan for a £6m fee - end of contract!)
DL - Fredrik Thommson (2010 regen, Swedish, best stats I've seen on a regen LB!) / Vilchez (got it right this time!)
DC - Breno / Kevin Wilson
DC - Musacchio / Mendes Da Silva
DR - Nicolas Frey
DM - Banega / Ropotan
ML - Duff / Jean-Pierre Mary (French wonderkid)
MR - Simao / Chris Eagles
AMC - Buonanotte / Kallon / Lewis McGugan
FC - Cassano / Doudin
FC - Stancu / Ronaldo

The important signings were Musacchio £2.9m, Simao £5m, and Cassano on a free! The two wonderkids were also free.

I'm probably having my worst run of luck with injuries now though, the following players are out:

Banega - 2 months (knee ligaments)
Ropotan - 5 months (broken leg)
Duff - 3 months (calf muscle)
Cassano - 1 month (ribs)
Buonanotte - 1 month (ribs)

So time for more young players to step up and expose my frail defence once more...

Well, what a miraculous season. Despite many injuries throughout the season, I fluked my way to second place in the league, only 5 points behind eventual winners Arsenal! A League Cup win brought my first trophy in years...

Akinfeev was a great signing, averaging 7.97 for the 6 months remaining. Pletikosa also was a great asset, with his 7.49 average.

Defensively, all players averaged 7 or above, which is an improvement, however I conceed the second highest number of goals in the league - 68. The fact I scored almost 100 goals was quite fortunate!

As I go into my 5th season, here's how it stands:

The challenge now is signing quality players to instantly improve my squad. I might be able to sign Veloso for DM - my weakest position - by bending my £22m budget, but beyond that it seems to buy any established players I'll have to spend £70m+ which for a Forest side with only £25m in the bank and 30,000 attendances, is too much.

Hopefully the extra years experience will help, and Champions League football won't kill my squad, but I'm not confident and feel that I may have raised expectations to far.

Any advice for my squad?
