I'm at the end of my first season with a 52m budget. If I write positions below for what I need and squad role I need for them, would you put a suggestion in for each role and a rough guess at the price.

GK (First choice to replace Lehman) i.e. Oscar Ustari

DL (Backup for CLICHY TO RIVAL TRAORE)

MC (I have Fab and Diaby but some competition would be nice)

AMR and would be a bomus if he could play Left also. (First team for Right Wing and a decent utility player.)

Striker (Cheap back-up preferably English no more 2than 2/3m and happy in reserves for a season.)

Hope this gets a few responses. Also bear in mind I like English players but only if they are not to bad compared to foreign alternatives.

GK Either Felipe from Santos for a budget signing of £4m or Ustari for £30m
DL Marcelo £6mish

MC Ever Banega £4m brilliant

AMR Belluschi or Obertan about £15m

Striker Mauro Zarate worth about £13m but is available for £3m

dl - i dont think you need cover there but maybe wayne bridge?

mc - not sure why you'd buy another cm when you have denilson coming through, flamini, as well as rosicky able to play there, but someone like toulalan

amr - ben arfa, class on both sides

st - maybe haynes but he wont be good enough for arsenal, so someone like saivet, or try baxter from everton

Rosicky I sold and Flamini I prefer as backup to Gilberto in DM. Ideas such as Toulalan are perfect but hes guna cost a bomb aint he.

GK - Ochoa - £10m, world class keeper & has a good 15 years ahead of him!

DL - Marcelo - approx £4.5m - added bonus is he can play on the left wing.

MC - Banaga - approx £4m - retrain as an AMC and he's very good value. Would fit Arsenal well

FC - Stancu - there aren't really any good young English FC's at the start of the game, certainly not Arsenal quality. So buy Stancu, will be world class by season 3 and will cost less than £300k if he's not already moved. You could also bring in Saivet, he will be a £4m or so but a very typical Arsenal player.


If you buy these, then you should have £30m left to buy a quality right winger. Quaresma would be a good choice, but if you can't afford him or if you want a short-term fix, Simao or Arshavin for approx £6m would do just fine.

Btw, I'm rating the above on past experience, and you can't go wrong with Ochoa or Stancu in particular.

And english cf i picked up for 4.7m was Jermaine Defoe. Looks like a good buy so far.

at the end of the first season you'll be looking at around the £20m pound mark but he is world class and worth it imo. The perfect player would be essien but i doubt that chelsea would sell him.

Banega I missed out on offered contract but he picked another club.

My Ideals are

GK Akinfeev

DL Bridge if less than Marcelo otherwise him

MC Toulalan as he's MC im full of AMC's. (How much could I Get Pirlo for?)

AMR Ben Arfa (I think). I could Get Simao for 5m is he worth it as out of all these player he will get best run in first team

FC Stancu and Defoe (and hope I can keep everybody happy) I may flog eduardo.
