In my current save, of the time I spent in Brazil, the GK MoMs went something like this (I kept a count; sad, I know, but I was curious) :
My team: 3
Other teams: 23
I was glad to be out of there.

On the other hand, it seems to have levelled up since then.

As far as I know, the USA version of FM was originally planned for a few weeks later. I think EHM did miss it's scheduled date in North America, though I'm not sure if we ever went public with that date. It was ready to go on the same date as the European release but we were asked to hold off for marketing - seems to have backfired a bit.

I see the same thing happening here. It makes no sense to delay the N.A release. Everyone I know who wants the game is ordering the UK version online because they don't want to wait a month (or likely more) for the same game with a different title. I imagine that this will be true for almost all experienced CM players in the US. Thus your US sales probably won't reflect even half of the real numbers playing the game here. If you miss the late november date by even a couple of weeks, you'll miss out on Xmas shopping as well. Seems like an odd plan IMHO.

Damned Yankees hijacking decent threads with their rantings about not getting games soon enough

I ended up drawing 22 games in a 46 game campaign...now that's something to rant about

Bloody Colonials, you should ditch Bush and Kerry and rejoin the Commonwealth, you should never have left in the first place.

You haven't done much since 1776...except foist Elvis flippin' Presley on us

Backfired a bit? How's that? You mean by the fact that there's no NHL season now.

I know the "delays" EHM went through as I did research for the game. And there was no marketing to be seen here at all. Shame really. Hope the same thing doesn't happen with FM or rather Worldwide Soccer Manager, but I've now placed my order with gogamer.com.

Nah, I meant backfired in that no-one has heard of the game that was supposed to be marketed. Some mixup with the name from what I gather. We found a few reviews here and there (deleted the links though, sorry). Riz was at E3 and did loads of interviews, but places like IGN never covered it in their E3 stuff (despite having a previous preview up and hence knowing about it.)

Dunno what the plan is for Worldwide Soccer Manager; thankfully I don't deal with any of that nonsense - I much prefer to stick to coding some stuff I barely understand :o

22 in 46, not bad at all. I had 15 draws in 30 in Portugal, but it wasn't due to superkeepers or anything, we simply sucked :p

I think the USA release is to be aimed at "new" users - we don't/didn't have many North American customers just now, so I think the plan is to branch out (hence the new name, I guess).

In my gold demo game with Bradford Park Avenue the player who got the most MoMs in 6 months was MY 'keeper. He got more than the total of oppo goalies.

Waiting for the big day when I can load up that savegame and continue I played another gold demo with <cough>Arsenal [copyright Eric Morecambe] - needless to say the arrogant crap German goalie got no MoMs. I think there were only 3 games where the oppo goalie got MoM. Seems fair enough to me.

I'll have to bum about a bit longer than you guys waiting for my copy of FM but I'm VERY excited.
