1) Depends on what you wanna achieve etc... Ask your magic 8-ball and then just go for it!
2) See 1).
3) The bigger, the better....
4) Most say yes.. but I think next time I start, I won't use real players... makes it more of my world and no spotting people you know.
4)Just done that one..
5) Yes... Always use it. Because there is little chance you're gonna know how good Little Jimmy @ Spanswick Rovers without some research.
6) Be you yourself, pretend to be someone famous! (I wonder if that old cheat is still there that if you put your name in as an RL international manager, you can mange that country??)
7) I use medium speed and Extended. That way you can see more of what your team are/aren't doing. I would do full but I ain't got that much patience!!

Greetings

T x

Hmm.. this doesn't make sense to me. You've always (since CM3 anyway) been able to manage a national team from the beginning of the game, no matter what your name is.

I've got used to playing with Real Players turned off since CM4, but having started a few games already, I've noticed there are some very familiar problems I thought had been exterminated.
The most irritating one you may encounter is 'Pace:1, Acceleration:1', which mainly seems to blight Portuguese teams.
Having said that, it does look like they've sorted out the Work Permit thing - nothing like as crazy as it was in past version.

On the nationality side of things, I always set my nationality to English, regardless of where I start, since my aim is always to end up managing in England.

Perhaps, but since even the lowest club in the game is unlikely to appoint someone with the amount of experience most of us have (maybe Dale could get a job... maybe), that's the kind of 'Unrealistic' I can live with.

Thanks everyone, you've all made some interesting points.

I have just started as Albion Rovers so I shall provide an update soon and tell you what a mess I'm making of it!
